Ohio Woman Suffers Serious Injuries after Motorcycle Swerves
A report from the Zanesville Times Recorder has posted a story on their website about a 33-year-old Zanesville woman that was hospitalized after suffering injuries in a motorcycle accident. According to the report, Misty Wood was attempting to take a curve in the road when her motorcycle swerved to the side of the road and she collided with a guardrail
Wood was ejected from the motorcycle and was lodged underneath a log as authorities arrived at the scene of the accident. Wood was reportedly wearing a helmet and safety glasses while operating the motorcycle. Her husband was following her in another motorcycle when the accident occurred. An investigation into the accident is currently underway and Wood has not been cited for anything in this accident. The report states Wood did not suffer any life-threatening injuries in the accident.
Since this incident was a one-vehicle accident and no other vehicle or person was involved, the only possible factors that could have contributed to the accident are excessive speed, road conditions or vehicle malfunction. There have been no citations handed to Wood following this accident but if Wood is found to be at fault for the accident, she could receive citations. The fact that her husband was following in a motorcycle behind her could work in her favor as he could provide information on whether she was at fault for the accident or not.
