16 People Killed in Serious Automobile Accident
At least 16 people were killed in a head-on collision involving two Toyota buses. Ten other people were transported to a medical facility with varying degrees of injuries and four others were uninjured in the accident. The Federal Road Safety Commission commander stated the accident occurred as a result of one car attempting to overtake the other and colliding with another vehicle in the process.
There was no information on the specific injuries that the surviving victims suffered in this accident. It is unknown whether or not speed or alcohol was factors in this accident.
In this accident one of the victims that were killed was a small child. This incident demonstrates how easy it is for a serious accident to happen just by trying to overtake another vehicle on the roadway. It just takes one small mistake for a vehicle to collide with another or with some other obstacle and the driver and/or passengers could potentially lose their lives as a result. Dangerous or reckless driving does not need to be a factor in any accident; it can happen even if all parties involved are in the right frame of mind and not acting recklessly or driving aggressively.
