Wrongful Death Suit Filed After Hunting Accident
In Doylestown, PA two family members of the victims in a wrongful death lawsuit have accused David Manilla of allegedly shooting and killing their loved ones in November. Barry Groh was killed on November 29th while he was hunting in an open space near Manilla’s property on California Road.
According to the wrongful death suit, Groh was fatally shot by Manilla from his property. Theresa Groh is the widow and has decided to pursue damages against Manilla for killing her husband. She has also decided to seek an injunction that would void the sales of the six properties Manilla owned at the time of the shooting. The suit states that during the time of the shooting Manilla had sold his New Hanover property for $1 to his sister Honor, then sold his three Worcester properties and the Upper Salford property to his mother Vivian for a $1 each. He also sold his California Road property to PPL Electric Utilities Corp. on December 9th for $1.45 million. After he had sold the properties his wife then posted a $200,000 cash bond to secure his release from prison. The suit requests an injunction that prevents the dissipation of Manilla’s assets.
This is clearly an example of someone who is trying to get around the legal system and trying not to be held responsible for the pain and suffering they have caused. While monetary compensation is not going to bring your loved one back but it can take some of the burdens away that come with having a loved one die suddenly.
