In West Valley City, UT, a 12-year-old boy suffered a broken pelvis, a broken arm and internal injuries after being struck by a vehicle as he was crossing a crosswalk to school. The boy is in serious condition in a medical facility as a result of this incident. A 36-year-old man driving his vehicle through the crosswalk struck the boy as he was crossing to get to school.

A sophomore student baseball player has returned home after a serious automobile accident caused a life-threatening brain injury last year. Rhett Nelson was reportedly driving north on Highway 221 in South Carolina when he lost control of his vehicle. Nelson’s vehicle flipped about four and a half times and landed in the southbound lane of the roadway. Nelson’s mother, Rosemary suffered several broken bones in the accident.

A 39-year-old woman suffered puncture wounds to her arm and abdomen after being attacked by a pit bull dog in Palm Beach County, Florida. The woman was bitten by a male pit bull that had puppies with the woman’s female pit bull. The woman reportedly picked up one of the puppies to put it with the rest of the litter when the male pit bull jumped up and attacked the woman.

A worker at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida was killed after being struck by a rollercoaster cart. 52-year-old Russell Sherry Roscoe was working on part of the ride when he was struck by one of the ride’s vehicles and suffered massive head injuries as a result.

A Mount Pleasant, MI man was pronounced dead at the scene of a car-pedestrian accident that occurred at the intersection of High Street and Watson Road in Michigan. 51-year-old Joseph Feasby was struck by a Chevy truck as he was crossing through the intersection. The truck was being driven by a 16-year-old driver. The report states that neither drugs nor alcohol were involved in this incident.

A 50-year-old man has been arrested and convicted of beating his 73-year-old mother with a flashlight according to a VV Daily Press report. Jerry Wayne Baker was sentenced to 25 days in jail after pleading no contest to a misdemeanor count of battery in connection with the incident that occurred at the victim’s home. The incident began when the victim got into an argument with Baker about paying rent for the home where they lived.

An employee from the Brookshire Brothers warehouse employee was killed the morning of the 28th when a loading dock ramp fell on him. Police have identified the employee as 44-year-old Clayton Johnson. Johnson worked as a maintenance employee for the warehouse and had worked there for roughly four years. Lufkin police stated that Johnson died as a result of blunt force trauma from the impact of the loading dock ramp.

A California father whose son was killed by a driver who didn't see him because she was texting is lobbying the Arizona Legislature to pass a texting while driving ban. Robert Okerblom's 19-year-old son Eric was hit and killed by a teen driver who was texting in 2009. Okerblom now runs the Eric Okerblom foundation, which advocates for tougher distracted driving laws around the country.

A 22-year-old New Port Beach woman was believed to have been driving under the influence when she was involved in a car-bicycle accident with a 41-year-old man. 22-year-old Diane Marie Miller was driving her Volkswagen Jetta when she collided with Amine Britel.
