FireGel Recalled as Fire Hazard

Made by Napa Home & Garden, Inc and sold at Bed, Bath & Beyond, FireGel is being recalled due to several reports of serious injury. Severe burns, the most serious of which resulted in hospitalization, have been reported after use of this product.

FireGel is a flammable substance used in outdoor containers to rid backyards of insects. Unlike citronella candles, FireGel does not have a wick so customers may be unaware when the substance is still aflame and refilling lit containers with FireGel has been causing explosions and serious burns. Customers are advised to discontinue use of this product immediately and await updated safety information.

Customers injured by defective products may be entitled to monetary compensation. U.S. product liability laws allow consumers of defective products to sue for financial recovery for injuries they suffer because of an unsafe product.
