Extra Strength Tylenol Recalled for Strange Odor

Over 60,000 bottles of extra strength Tylenol are being recalled for having a "musty, moldy" odor. This odor said to be a cause of trace levels of tribromoanisole (TBA) which can also cause gastrointestinal discomfort. Customers are advised to discontinue use of this defective medication immediately.

Consuming TBA can cause illness and these products have been recalled despite the fact no illnesses have been reported as a result of using this product yet. The defective product currently being recalled was manufactured in February 2009 and product numbers are printed on the side of bottles.

Customers who have suffered illness due to a defective product may be entitled to monetary damages. U.S. product liability laws allow consumers of defective products to sue for financial recovery for injuries they suffer because of an unsafe product.
