Pedestrian Dies after Being Struck by Automobile in Nevada

A Nevada woman was killed after being struck by a silver Ford truck as she crossed the crosswalk on US Highway 50 in Lake Tahoe. The incident occurred back in July in the early morning hours. The truck attempted to leave the scene of the accident but a witness to the accident followed the driver.

Authorities found the silver Ford truck unoccupied but the driver later returned to the truck and authorities arrested him on charges of felony DUI and Due Care. An investigation into the accident is currently under way and any witnesses to the event are urged to contact authorities to provide any information available.

In the event of an automobile accident of any kind, the last thing a person should ever do is to leave the scene. If a person leaves the scene of an accident without attempting to provide any assistance to the victim, they could possibly face very serious charges in connection to the incident. This is especially true of the accident results in a fatality. In this incident, the driver of the Ford truck could face more serious charges in connection with this accident. In addition, he could also face legal action from the victim’s family. If the driver had stopped to provide some sort of assistance to the victim, even if all he could do was call medical personnel, he may have faced less severe charges.

It is extremely important to stop and help any victims in an accident if you are a witness or if you are involved in the accident if you are physically capable of providing assistance. If the driver had stopped to provide assistance, the victim may have received proper medical attention much quicker and she could still be alive. This is one of many incidents that may have been preventable if the proper actions had taken place. Unfortunately, now a woman has lost her life and the victim’s family has to face a terrible loss. It is never easy to bear when we lose a loved one; but when they are killed as a result of an accident that could be prevented, it is much worse and the person responsible for the accident should be held accountable.
