Road Rage Results in Serious Automobile Accident

A three-vehicle accident resulted in a citation for three people following an incident of road rage. Authorities said two drivers admitted that road rage played a part in the accident after one of the drivers got upset when the second driver did not yield to him in a construction zone. The second driver was allegedly tailgating the first driver and flashing his bright lights at him. When the first driver put on his brakes to prevent from hitting construction barrels up ahead, the second driver collided with him after attempting to drive around him.

Immediately after this accident, a third vehicle collided with the second one. A passenger in the third vehicle was transported to a medical facility by ambulance to check for possible injuries. A three-year-old was also transported to a medical facility as a precaution. The two drivers were charged with reckless driving. The third driver was cited for not having adequate restraint for a child in the vehicle.

Everybody is aware of road rage and how it can result in a potentially serious automobile accident. However, many people do not know how to identify some of the signs of road rage in other drivers. If you see a driver who is weaving in and out of traffic, tailgating others, passing other drivers on the right side (an illegal pass) and generally driving recklessly, you should take caution because these are the most common signs of road rage. It is very easy for road rage to occur and it has become one of the most common causes of automobile accidents across the nation.

Actions such as hitting the brakes when a person is tailgating you are also considered forms of road rage. When a person is tailgating, it is very important not to put the brakes but simply to slow down slightly in order for your taillights to turn on. Although most people try to slam their brakes, this is extremely dangerous because it can cause very serious accidents. If you see a person weaving in and out of traffic, you should try and stay as far away from them as possible to prevent them from hitting you. Road rage is a dangerous and potentially fatal act and nobody deserves to suffer after a serious accident resulting from road rage.
