A traffic accident in Virginia left one man with severe injuries to his legs and killed another. The man who was killed was a dean at J. Sargeant Community College in Virginia. Police believe the 68-year-old man was killed on impact when the other vehicle struck his on the driver’s side while at an intersection. The intersection where the crash occurred had traffic lights set up. The victim’s car struck a tree after being hit by the other vehicle.

A single-vehicle accident in which a 35-year-old man flipped over driving a 2000 Ford Windstar minivan is currently under investigation. The accident occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle and traveled over a guardrail and down an embankment ultimately landing right-side-up at the bottom. The driver did not have a driver’s license at the time of the accident.

After broadsiding a truck while riding her motorcycle, a woman in Indiana nearly lost her leg. The accident occurred when the motorcycle rider was crossing through an intersection when she collided with the side of a pickup truck also going through the intersection. Authorities found the woman on a nearby lawn and her leg had been partially severed and she had massive blood loss.

The automakers Honda and Subaru have been forced to recall 311,000 Honda SUV’s and 500,000 Subaru vehicles because of issues with the seatbelts. The front seatbelts in the Honda Pilot vehicle may not function properly and they may not restrain the driver. It is possible for the seatbelts to disconnect from the seats, potentially causing serious injury for the driver.

Police in Amarillo, TX were investigating a car-pedestrian accident that left a 67-year-old man dead and injured another man as well. The accident occurred when a truck driver hauling wheat stepped out of his truck onto the road to talk to talk to another truck driver in a turning lane. At that time a Dodge Charger struck the truck which in turn struck both truck drivers.

A two-year-old boy bitten by the family dog suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a medical facility. The dog in question was described as an 11-year-old Husky dog and the family said they would turn it over to the custody of animal control the same afternoon of the dog attack. The family stated that the dog was not known to be aggressive but still chose not to keep it in the home following the attack.

In Pittsburgh, PA, a 6-year-old boy was bitten by a large Akita mix as he was walking home from school. The first-grade student was walking past a fenced-in area when the 1½-year-old Akita mix went underneath the fence and attacked the boy. The boy’s wounds required 10 stitches to repair but doctors expect the boy to recover completely from the attack.

A Merrick County woman was transported to a medical facility with dog bites on her arms and head following a pit bull attack. The incident occurred when the victim reportedly got into a verbal argument with the dog’s owner. As the fight continued, the dog became agitated and attacked the victim. The dog’s owner suffered minor scratches and scrapes but the victim suffered bites to her arms and head.

The mother of a 20-year-old man that was killed in an automobile accident involving a 22-year-old man has filed a lawsuit against the 22-year-old. The victim’s mother claims the 22-year-old driver was driving under the influence of alcohol that directly caused the victim’s death. The accident occurred when the defendant in the suit collided with the victim’s van. The victim died later of the injuries that he suffered.

After a bus accident that killed 15 people occurred in March, the bus driver faced a trial last week where prosecutors stated he knew he had gotten very little sleep prior to driving the bus from Connecticut to New York City. In addition prosecutors stated the bus driver did not have a valid license at the time of the accident. The accident occurred when the driver lost control of the bus. The driver stated that he lost control after being hit by another vehicle but investigators could not verify the validity of that claim.

A bus crash left 34 people dead after one of the buses caught fire upon impact. The second bus involved in the accident did not catch fire but most of the occupants in that bus were still killed as a result of the impact. The accident also involved a semi truck that collided with the two buses. The two buses were reportedly trying to overtake one another when the collision with the semi truck occurred. The driver of the semi truck and its passenger were also killed in the accident as the vehicle caught fire. At least three people sustained serious injuries in the second bus involved in this accident.
