Dirt Bike Accident Claims Teen Life

A Delaware family is mourning the death of their son after a dirt bike accident killed him.  Their 14-year-old son was riding with his 16-year-old friend were riding their dirt bikes along an access road  when they collided nearly head on.  Police have stated that the teens were thrown from their bikes after the crash and that boy of them were wearing helmets at the time.

Speed was not a factor in the accident according to police, they suspect that the teens could not see each other because of the hill crest.  The boy had told his father that he would be back in ten minutes, little did he know that it would be much longer.  The father became alarmed once the ten minutes turned into fifteen minutes and he heard the medical helicopter and the ambulances. When he was taken to the hospital he were pronounced dead and his friend remains in very serious condition.

The 14-year-old boy was thrilled when he had received his dirt bike and now he will never be able to ride it again.  No family should ever have to lose their child in such a devastating accident.  Although many young teens want dirt bikes, it is important to not ever forget the dangers and to explain thoroughly about how to ride a dirt bike and to make sure that your child is an appropriate age.  In most cities there are many classes available for young adults to take about the safety of riding a dirt bike.  These classes teach simple but informative methods for how to avoid accidents and how to prevent injuries.  Along with following proper safety regulations, it is also important that the type of bike is very safe and that the accident was not caused by another person's negligence or dirt bike company's faulty bike.

Car Ripped in Half Following Serious Accident

In Long Beach, FL, a vehicle was ripped in half after a very serious collision with a second vehicle. The accident occurred on a roadway east of the San Gabriel River Freeway. According to a member of the Long Beach Fire Department, the front portion of the vehicle that was ripped in half stayed stationary but the other half landed in an embankment nearby.

The two occupants of the vehicle – a 27-year-old woman and a 9-year-old child – sustained minor to moderate injuries. The occupant of the second vehicle was taken to a medical facility suffering severe injuries. The victims’ identities have not been released at this time. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.

This incident demonstrates one end of the spectrum in terms of the severity of most automobile accidents. While some accidents may not be severe enough to cause serious injuries, accidents such as this one can be extremely serious. Fortunately, the two occupants in the vehicle that tore in half only suffered minor injuries and will recover. However, things could have been much worse as pain and suffering is often part of an accident.. Accidents like this can be caused by various things including driver error or the fault of another driver on the road. In this incident since there were two cars involved, it is possible that one of the drivers made some sort of error in judgment that caused the accident. If that is the case, they should be held responsible for causing the accident.

Teenager Dies in Automobile Accident

NBC affiliate KXAN News in Austin, Texas has reported that a teenage student has died in a serious automobile accident. According to the report, 17-year-old Jon Chin lost control of his vehicle and collided with a tree early last week.

Police stated that Chin sped down a roadway when he lost control and smashed into the tree. The vehicle was reportedly sliding sideways as it crashed into the tree. Chin was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. He was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. There is no information on the factors that contributed to the crash besides excessive speed.

In the state of Arizona, statistics show that roughly 148 drivers ages 15 to 20 were killed in automobile accidents in 2008. That number is from a total 937 automobile accidents that occurred in 2008. Speeding fatalities amount to approximately 373 accidents in 2008. An accident can occur for anybody at any age. Teen drivers are just as susceptible as other drivers due to their lack of experience driving. However, when speed becomes a factor, a driver of any age can easily lose control of their vehicle and cause a serious accident.

Plane Crash in Arizona Injures Two

In Marana, Arizona a plane that had circled around back to a southern Arizona airport only to crash after it missed the runway. Two individuals who were onboard the flight are suffering serious injuries.

The injured includes a 16-year-old girl who was on the flight for an introductory flight for possible flying lessons and a 46-year-old flight instructor who is suffering life threatening injuries. The plane was a single engine Remos airplane. The crash occurred at Marana Northwest Regional Airport where witnesses saw the plane take off, take a hard right turn, circle around and miss the runway causing the plane to land in a field nearby. Luckily a medical helicopter crew that was based in the airport began helping the girl and flight instructor right away. The Federal Aviation Administration has stated that the federal agency is investigating the crash.

Plane crashes occur much more frequently than is imagined. There are a number of causes that could be responsible for the crash like this one. If the company who built the airplane has manufactured a defective part of equipment, then they could be held accountable for any injuries that occurred in the crash. The people that maintain the engine of the plane can also be held accountable if they improperly fixed or improperly inspected the plane. If you or a family member was injured in a plane crash related accident, then contacting an Arizona personal injury attorney is your best option for compensation

Family Files Wrongful Death Suit Over Collision with Tractor-Trailer

The Times Leader website has reported that the parents of a 20-year-old man that was killed when his vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer are filing a lawsuit against the driver of the tractor-trailer. Thomas Rogan and Denise Garofalo have filed a lawsuit against Richard Rody and the company that owns the tractor-trailer arguing that Rody acted in a negligent way and this directly caused the death of their son Joseph Rogan.

The accident that killed Rogan occurred two years ago on September 13th. The lawsuit alleges that Rogan had the right of way on the roadway he was driving on when Rody allegedly made an illegal U-turn. Rogan was unable to stop his vehicle and subsequently collided with the tractor-trailer’s side. The top of Rogan’s vehicle physically flew off and this led to Rogan’s death. Rogan’s parents are seeking damages that amount to well over $100,000 arguing that Rody ignored road signs prohibiting vehicles larger than 21,000 pounds from travelling on roadways. They also argue that Rody did not pay attention to the road nor did he abide by state driving laws.

There are many factors to be considered when a lawsuit of this nature is filed. In this case, the fact that the driver of the tractor-trailer made an illegal U-turn and did not abide by state laws regarding vehicle safety and driving laws, the lawsuit could be swayed in favor of Rogan’s parents. If he indeed had the right of way and the tractor-trailer drove into his direction causing the collision, Rogan’s allegations would be correct and they would win the lawsuit. However, if there is any evidence that points to Rogan being at fault, the lawsuit could go the other way. Regardless of who wins this lawsuit, it is nonetheless a tragedy that somebody that was only 20 years old lost his life as a result of a tragic accident.

Wrongful Death Lawsuit Filed in Paramedic Helicopter Crash

A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed on behalf of a man whose wife was killed in a 2008 Maryland helicopter crash. According to the lawsuit, Kenneth Mallard is seeking $7 million in damages arguing that negligence on the part of the FAA led to the death of his wife in the paramedic helicopter.

This lawsuit was one of several that had been filed including a lawsuit filed by the only survivor of the helicopter crash, Jordan Wells. Wells filed a $50 million personal-injury lawsuit against the FAA but it was subsequently denied. A third lawsuit was filed following the crash on behalf of paramedic Mickey Lippy who also died in the accident. Lippy’s relatives filed a $15 million lawsuit back in March. There is no information on the status of Mallard’s lawsuit whether it was denied or not.

While filing a lawsuit could potentially resolve monetary issues between the plaintiff and the defendant in each case, it is not a way of bringing back those that have died. It is a terrible tragedy when a person loses their life because of a terrible accident as was the case in this incident. Now a man must live the rest of his life without his wife. Unfortunately, incidents such as this one happen very often. While it is always possible to get compensation for any damages that may occur, healing the emotional and mental wounds will never be resolved by getting monetary compensation from those that are at fault.

14-Year-Old Boy Crashes During Police Chase

The News Herald website reports that a 14-year-old boy led police officers on a high speed chase on June 12th that ended with the boy crashing. According to the report, a police officer saw a Ford Taurus driving with its lights off. The officer proceeded to follow the vehicle in an attempt to pull the driver over. The driver attempted to get away from the officer, increasing speed and swerving into oncoming traffic lanes.

At one point during the chase, the vehicle was driving at 90 miles per hour in a 35 mile per hour zone. The teenage driver reportedly kept attempting to hit other vehicles on the road way including a vehicle driven by a 54-year-old woman. The woman was able to swerve out of the way and avoid a collision. The chase ended when the teen drove over a curb, into the sidewalk and grass and crashed into an unoccupied vehicle in the parking lot of an apartment building. The teen faces several charges in juvenile court and the boy’s mother was cited for parental responsibility.

This incident demonstrates a blatant case of negligence and irresponsibility on the part of the boy’s parents. A child should never be in a position to put themselves or others in danger, especially on roadways. An underage child operating a vehicle puts the child in danger because they don’t know how to operate a vehicle and this also puts others in danger. The fact that the boy in this incident was clearly attempting to hit other vehicles on roadways only increases the danger that this child faced.
