A 52-year-old man has been charged with two misdemeanor counts of having a stray dog after the two bulldogs he owns attacked and injured his 45-year-old neighbor. The attack originally occurred as the woman was walking through her driveway and passed the fence where the two dogs were kept. The dogs managed to get through the fence and immediately jumped on the woman and attacked her and her pets. The woman suffered a broken ankle and several lacerations on her hands and face that required stitches.
euthanized at the Humane Society according to authorities. The woman’s injuries were not life threatening.
Neighbors in the area said the two dogs that attacked never showed any aggressive behavior toward them or toward their pets. One person in particular said he had lived in the area for 5 years and never had any issues with the two bulldogs. However, although that may be true, a dog does not always show aggressive tendencies and anybody is still susceptible to attack. Just because a dog does not show any aggressive behavior does not mean they will not attack and this incident proves that. The bulldogs were able to get through a chain link fence before they attacked the victim in this incident. This shows how strong dogs can be and how easy it is for them to be able to take someone down and attack them. Even small dogs can have enough strength to knock a person down and cause serious injuries to them.
The woman’s family said they are planning to hire an attorney to discuss possible legal action to bring against the dog owner in connection with this incident. As they stand, the charges of having a stray dog have a three-month jail sentence if the person is convicted. The man will be arraigned in court at a later date that as of now has not been set yet. Victims of similar dog attacks should follow the course of action that the woman’s family is taking and hire an attorney who can help them bring the dog’s owner to justice if the dog owner fails to keep their dogs safely away from anyone they can attack.

A police canine suffered injuries to its nose and right thigh in an attack by two pit bull dogs. The attack happened as the police dog’s owner had taken it out for exercise late in the afternoon when two unleashed pit bulls ran toward the police dog and began biting her. The police officer removed the pit bulls and rushed his dog to the emergency room as she had been losing a large amount of blood. The officer later issued the dog owner two citations, one for failure to restrain an animal and one for failure to exercise her responsibilities as an animal owner.
This incident demonstrates that not even animals are safe from potential dog attacks. People are well aware that dogs are dangerous to other people but do not realize the dangers that other animals face against potentially vicious dogs. Even large dogs compared to those that initiate the attack could become victims of severe attacks and suffer equally severe injuries as a result. Fortunately, the dog in this incident could possibly make a recover from the injuries she suffered.
According to Illinois animal laws, dog owners who own dogs that are six months old or older are required to have a license to own the dog and the dogs must wear tags associated with that license. All licenses expire in April of every year and it is the dog owner’s responsibility to renew that license. In addition, it is the dog owner’s responsibility to keep their pet under restraint either by a leash, inside a crate or a cage, or in the owner’s property. The owner of a dog may not be held liable for an attack if the victim is either trespassing, committing a felony, if the victim provoked the dog, or if the dog was a police dog assisting in the line of duty at the time of the attack. As a result, the dog owner in this case was held responsible and given multiple citations for the attack.
Anybody who is the victim of an attack like this one and if the attack does not fall under the aforementioned circumstances, the victim should contact an attorney who can help them get compensation for their injuries and ensure that the dog owner is held fully responsible for their dog’s actions.

Georgia state laws on dogs could be on the verge of change following a press conference with lawmakers and a 10-year-old girl that was attacked and bitten by two pit bull dogs. The victim suffered injuries to her arms that caused her to lose full function of her right arm and she lost part of her left arm. The attack happened when the girl, then 8 years old, was walking through her neighborhood and was attacked by the two dogs. The victim spoke at the press conference and stated she believes dog owners should be sentenced to serve jail time if they own a vicious dog that attacks another person.
In the state of Georgia, House Bill 148 and House Bill 685 are being changed to clarify the definition of a dog attack and make punishments harsher for dog owners. As of now a dangerous dog is defined as one that has previously been involved in an attack, therefore dogs that have not been involved in an attack are not counted in the law. The proposals to the two House bills will be going through a hearing process this year according to the chairman of the House Agriculture Committee.
People at the press conference including lawmakers stated that it is tragedies like this that cause lawmakers and others to review statutes set in place against vicious dogs. Lawmakers said the wording of the original statute is what made it confusing and caused a loophole for dog owners to get through without being punished. However, if the statutes will be reviewed for sure, it could possibly be a major step in effect to help the citizens of Georgia against vicious dogs. The victim’s mother even stated that the statute was in disarray because of its wording. The most unfortunate part of this incident is that a 10-year-old girl suffered serious injuries and had to spend a lengthy period of time in the hospital as a result.
Anybody who owns a dog that has attacked a person this viciously should be held responsible for their dog’s actions and punished to the fullest extent of the law. The statutes set in place are done so that the citizens of the specific state where the laws are in effect can be safe and not have to worry about being attacked viciously like this. Unfortunately, as this incident demonstrates, some statutes are simply not enough and they must be revised. In addition, victims can contact an attorney who can assist them in getting compensation from the dog owner and making sure the dog owner is held responsible for the dog attack.

A 10-year-old girl was the victim of a dog attack involving a Yorkshire terrier dog in the United Kingdom. The dog was one of 3 dogs owned by an elderly woman and police are now looking for the dog’s owner following this incident. The elderly woman reportedly caught a bus to a hospital after the attack had happened. The girl had been bitten in the ankle and suffered bruising as a result of the attack. Police are asking citizens to provide any information they can regarding the attack or the whereabouts of the elderly woman that owned the dog.
Police have said to contact PC Tracey Riddell at Great Yarmouth South Safer Neighbourhood Team on 101 or to call Crimestoppers. Anybody with information is urged to contact police to help them find the elderly woman connected to this incident so that the 10-year-old girl and her family can get the justice they deserve to have following this attack. Although the Yorkshire terrier breed of dogs is a very small dog, it does not mean that they cannot be violent dogs or that they cannot be aggressive. Even the smallest dog can easily hurt somebody if they bite them hard enough or if they come in contact with rabies and transfer it to their victim.
Dog attacks can occur without any notice as is possible in this incident. Despite the size of the dog, a dog attack can be very dangerous for the victim and anybody around the dog at the time of the attack. If a dog senses a threat against it, such as when a person tries to get them off the victim or approaches the dog in a threatening way, the dog will quickly attack regardless of its size and could cause serious injuries as a result, as this incident demonstrates.
The little girl in this incident should not have to suffer regardless of the size of the dog that attacked her. Some may argue that there are always two sides to every story and while that may be true, without the presence of the elderly woman that the dog belonged to, there is no way to get both sides of the story to confirm whether or not the attack happened the way it was reported. In either case, the girl’s family should be able to hire an attorney to get compensation for the injuries the girl sustained as a result of this attack.

An Illinois dog owner was left in critical condition after being attacked and bitten by their two American Bulldogs. Illinois police said they responded to the call in the morning hours and found the dog owner had been bitten by the dogs. The extent of the owner’s injuries was not released but police were conducting an investigation into the incident. The two dogs were taken into custody by animal control pending results of the investigation. The owner of the dogs was taken to a medical facility for treatment of their injuries following the attack.
This incident demonstrates that not only can dog attacks happen against owners of dogs but they can also be very vicious attacks as well. Although there is no information on the specific injuries that the dog owner suffered in this attack, the fact that the owner was left in critical condition demonstrates how serious the attack was and how serious the dog owner’s injuries were. In the event that the dog did not belong to the person that was attacked, the victim or the victim’s family could have taken legal action against the owner of the dog and gotten compensation for the injuries that the victim sustained as well as the medical expenses that may coincide with the victim’s recovery.
Unfortunately, since the dog that attacked the victim was their own dog and not somebody else’s, the victim will be unable to receive compensation for the injuries and damage that occurred in this attack. However, anybody that has been attacked by an unknown dog outside of their personal property should not hesitate to contact an attorney who can assist them in getting compensation for the injuries and damage that occurs as a result of the attack. This incident demonstrates that dog attacks can be extremely vicious, even if the dog is not usually a vicious animal. In many cases, the environment they are raised in affects their overall behavior and they will be quick to attack anybody. In those cases, dog owners should be held responsible for their dog’s actions and the victims that are affected should get the justice they deserve to have for their pain and suffering.

In Saugerties, NY, police and the dog warden will be enforcing a “two bite” law that states if a dog bites a human or another dog twice, that dog could be euthanized. Pet owners are strongly encouraged not to allow their dogs to roam free in order to prevent potential dog bite cases according to Saugerties police. This rule has already been set in place but it will now see stronger enforcement against attacking dogs. In a previous incident, a Biscon dog was attacked and bitten by two pit bulls owned by neighboring families
. The dog survived and required 100 stitches to close the wounds that it suffered in the attack. Victims of dog attacks are strongly encouraged to contact police and the dog warden to report the attacking animal.
There are many arguments about this law being enforced in New York. Some may completely disagree with enforcing this law because it vilifies animals. Others say laws like this are extremely important because it provides a measure of safety for humans and animals alike. Regardless whether one would agree with this law or not, the thing to take note of is that the safety of the citizens and their pets is what is most important. Nobody should be in a situation where they could be in serious danger because of a dangerous or aggressive dog.
Laws pertaining to dogs are set in place in order to protect the citizens of the city where they are enacted. Many dog bite cases result in extremely serious injuries to the victims and many cases occur because dogs are not on a leash or in an area away from citizens. Many dog bite incidents result in the victim requiring serious reconstructive surgery because of the extensive injuries they suffer as a result of the dog attack.
If you or somebody you know has been attacked and bitten by an aggressive dog, you should contact an attorney who can assist you in getting compensation and justice for your injuries and damages. People should be able to know that their safety and the safety of their pets will not be compromised because of other potentially aggressive animals roaming around.

A 19-year-old woman had her right ear bitten off by the family dog as she was having a seizure. The incident occurred in the woman’s home in west Philadelphia and the woman was transported to a medical facility following the attack.
The woman was transported to a medical facility where she was listed in stable condition. Authorities were able to salvage the woman’s severed ear and bring it to the hospital. The pit bull dog that was involved in the attack was transported to SPCA where it was held for 10 days. There is no report on what happened to the dog following that 10-day period.
This incident demonstrates the severity that can occur in any dog-bite related incident. In many cases dogs bite hard enough to sever body parts from victims. Depending on the size of the dog, the attack and subsequent injuries that occur can vary dramatically. Injuries that occur can range from simple lacerations that can quickly be repaired to injuries of this magnitude. There is no telling when a dog will attack and there is no way to know how strong they truly are just by looking at them. Even dogs that look small may still be strong enough to cause extremely serious injuries because of their bite. Fortunately, the woman in this incident was able to walk away from this incident in stable condition and the injuries she suffered were not more severe.
You can never be sure whether a dog is going to attack or not and dogs that appear completely harmless may have the ability to cause extremely serious injuries to victims. You should never approach a dog unless the owner explicitly gives you permission to do so. Even in that case, you should always approach a dog with extreme caution because you can never be sure what they are capable of. A person should never be put in this type of situation where they face serious injuries as a result of a dog bite. If you are bitten by an unknown dog and suffer serious injuries, you should contact an attorney that can help you

An 8-yerar-old boy in Florida had to be rushed to the hospital because of injuries he suffered as a result of a pit bull dog attack. The attack happened outside the boy’s home and the dog chased the boy inside the home following the attack. The homeowners chased the dog away and animal care authorities removed it from the area. The child was transported by air to a medical facility for treatment of wounds to his face. Despite the cuts to his face, the boy was not more seriously injured in the attack. There is no report whether or not animal control authorities maintained custody of the dog.
According to the CDC, incidents of dog bites amongst children are beginning to decrease, but this incident demonstrates how prevalent they still are. Statistics show that 4.5 people are bitten by dogs every year and at least 885,000 of those people require medical attention for dog bite injuries. Unfortunately many of these incidents involve children that are a very young age. Children are more susceptible to dog attacks for many reasons including because of their natural curiosity. When a young child first sees a dog, their first reaction is to go over and touch or pet it. In many cases the dog lashes out at the child when the child reaches toward it.
There are a number of things that could have caused the dog to attack the 8-year-old boy but until an investigation reveals the cause, there is no way to know the specific factors that played into it. If another person, such as the dog’s owner, was found to be involved in some way, they could face legal consequences for their dog’s actions. Obtaining legal representation from a qualified attorney should be the first step for anybody whose child was bitten by a dog that caused serious injuries.
A child should not have to face possible surgery and other medical attention for a dog attack that could have easily been avoided or prevented in the first place. The 8-year-old child victimized in this incident and the dog involved should both have been monitored properly to prevent this situation from occurring.

A child in North Carolina faced possibly life-threatening injuries including an injury to the face after being bitten by a pit bull. According to the property manager of the apartment where the child lived, the child was trying to take food or a toy from the dog when it attacked and bit the child. Emergency crews arrived to the child’s home to find that the child suffered a bite to the face and other injuries in the attack. The child was transported to a medical facility for treatment but the condition of the child is unknown.
One of the most important details about dogs that some people may not realize at first is that they are territorial animals. They will be quick to attack a person or another animal if it feels a threat against their territory in any way. Even if a person or animal does not necessarily approach the dog in a threatening manner, the dog can still attack because they act purely on instinct. Depending how strongly the dog reacts to the perceived threat, the worse the dog attack may be against the victim.
Another factor that should be taken into consideration is that many dogs don’t like to be disturbed when they are eating or playing with their toys. In some cases, when a person or other animal approaches the dog when they are eating or playing with toys their first reaction is to start growling at them. If they are still being approached, they will lash out at the person or animal, sometimes causing a serious injury in the process.
Children should always be monitored when they are playing with or in the vicinity of a dog to ensure their safety and the safety of the dog as well. In this incident, if the dog was being monitored and the owner did not do anything to prevent the attack, the owner could be held liable for the injuries the child suffered in this incident. If the child had been killed as a result of the attack, the dog owner may have faced serious criminal penalties as a result. Parents should always ensure their children are safe in the vicinity of a dog so that accidents like this one can be avoided.
If you or a loved one are bitten by a dog and suffer some type of injury as a result, you should consult an attorney who can assist you in getting compensation for that attack. Children and other people should be able to take comfort in the fact that they are safe from dog attacks of this nature and that they will not suffer the same type of injuries that the victim in this incident has suffered.

A woman has been forced to relocate her dog out of the city limits of Brownsville, TX after the dog bit a 2-year-old girl in the face. The toddler was reportedly wandering into the dog’s yard and tried to give the dog a hug when it attacked and bit her. The 28-year-old owner gave custody of the dog to Animal Regulation and Care Center but she must find a new place for the dog outside of the city limits as a result of the attack.
The 2-year-old victim could possibly have to undergo reconstructive surgery to repair the damage sustained to her face in the dog attack. The dog’s owner was cited for the incident and had to appear in court following the incident.
There are multiple ways to interpret the results of this incident. Some may say the toddler should not have been allowed to wander into the woman’s yard and the toddler’s parents should have been monitoring their child better to prevent this incident. Others may argue the dog’s owner should be held accountable for the dog’s actions because the dog should have been monitored better. Regardless of how someone would interpret this incident, the tragic detail is that a 2-year-old child was severely injured and could face reconstructive surgery to repair the damage.
For a child, being attacked by a dog that is much bigger is a traumatic incident, but to have to face possibly extensive surgery as a result of that attack is much worse. A child should not have to suffer injuries like this simply because there was nobody monitoring the situation that could have stepped in to prevent it. Whether you believe the dog’s owner should have taken better care of the dog or if you believe the toddler’s parents should have taken better care of the child, the fact is the incident could have been prevented in one way or another. Unfortunately, now a child has sustained serious injuries and suffered a traumatic situation that she should not have been in. If an incident occurs and an investigation shows that one or more parties involved contributed to the accident in any way, those parties should be held accountable for their negligence that caused serious injuries to the victims.

After a small Terrier mix dog attacked and bit a 19-month-old child, the dog’s owner was cited for allowing his dog to run loose without supervision. The Kentucky courts will be handing down a fine to the 64-year-old man in connection with this incident. The attack originally occurred when the 19-month-old was trying to pet the dog on her family’s porch. The child was bitten in the face and had to be treated by medical staff. Authorities found the dog had not had a rabies vaccination and had to be quarantined at a Davidson County animal shelter.
After an ordinance was passed in Lexington; where the attack occurred, the police have the authority to declare whether the dog should be labeled as a vicious dog or not. If the dog is declared as such, the 64-year-old man would be required to release custody to the county animal shelter or build a kennel to house the dog with a muzzle.
Dog bite statistics have gradually increased throughout the entire United States over the last several years. Recently with the passing of dog leash laws and other pet-related laws, there has been a bright light shining on these statistics either in defense of dogs and other animals, or as a way to vilify these animals. However, the fact is that the only way to ensure that these dog bite statistics don’t continue to rise is through responsible ownership. Dogs operate on instinct based on the way they are raised as pets and based on their environment. When a dog senses a threat, they react in a vicious manner. Other times a dog may be acting in a playful manner and accidently injure a person they are trying to play with.
When people say that pets should be properly housed in a backyard or somewhere away from pedestrians who could get hurt, suggestions like this are often misconstrued and misinterpreted. Some think it is an insinuation that dogs and other pets should be imprisoned in a cage or imprisoned in their own homes. However, this is not the case. In order for people to ensure the safety of their pets and of others in the streets, it is important to know that your pets are safely in their own homes or in their own yard. When you take your pet out in public, you should ensure that they are on a leash so that you can keep an eye on them and make sure you know where they are at all times.

A Merrick County woman was transported to a medical facility with dog bites on her arms and head following a pit bull attack. The incident occurred when the victim reportedly got into a verbal argument with the dog’s owner. As the fight continued, the dog became agitated and attacked the victim. The dog’s owner suffered minor scratches and scrapes but the victim suffered bites to her arms and head.
Two other pit bull dogs reportedly involved in the incident were taken into custody of animal control. One of the dogs was tranquilized following the incident. Authorities are still investigating the incident to determine what factors played a part in it.
This incident demonstrates how easily a dog can get agitated in any situation. When a dog senses any kind of threat, even if it is not against them, they will be quick to attack the threatening person or animal. A dog can become agitated very quickly and this can easily cause a dog to attack and bite a person. A dog’s training could also play a part in any dog bite incident if they were trained to attack a person in an attempt to protect its owner. In some cases, this is why children are often the victims of very serious attacks. Children trying to play with a dog or pet a dog can agitate the dog and cause it to lunge at the child and cause serious injuries because of a bite.
In this incident it is possible that the dog’s owner could be held liable for the attack especially because it occurred on the owner’s property in her backyard. If the incident had occurred somewhere else away from the owner’s property, the victim may not be able to get compensation with the help of an experienced lawyer. If the dog does not have proper vaccination records or if its vaccinations are out of date, this could be another detail that could be a factor in the outcome of this incident. The possibility for rabies could make the situation much more dangerous for the victim, which would mean they would be entitled to higher compensation because of this attack.

A Houston, TX man was killed and two others were injured after a scuffle that came about because of a dog bite. The incident occurred early this week when the three people involved were at a party. One of the people got upset after he was bitten in the leg at the party. The man confronted the dog owner and left the party soon after. The man came back later in the day with a gun and killed the dog owner and wounded two others in the scuffle.
One of the two people injured was released from medical care and the second was forced to undergo surgery due to non-life-threatening injuries. Police were unable to locate the gunman following the incident.
It is a natural reaction when a person reacts angrily after being attacked and bitten by a dog. However, there are many ways that an incident can be resolved without resorting to some sort of violence. This is also true if the dog in question is one that is known to act aggressively toward others in the neighborhood or one that is known to have attacked and bitten others. However, it is unnecessary to cause the incident to escalate to a physical altercation that could result in serious bodily injury or death for the victims involved.
Nobody should have to suffer any serious harm because of an argument that could easily end without violence or some sort of physical resolution. Although the elderly man was the dog’s owner, he should not have been harmed because of his dog’s actions. In any situation regarding a dog bite, the first step that should always be taken is to ensure that the dog is not infected with rabies or some other disease that could injure or kill the bite victim. Once this is certain, the best course of action would be to contact the authorities and file a complaint against the dog’s owner and bring an experienced dog bite attorney to help you get compensation for damages or injuries that may have resulted from the attack. Physical violence is never necessary in any situation, especially when the victim is an elderly person and if the situation can be resolved in court.

The owner of three pit bull dogs that attacked a fourteen month old toddler and bit her in the face has been arrested and charged with two felony charges in connection with the incident. The incident occurred last week when three pit bull dogs owned by the girl’s grandfather knocked the girl down and began biting her. Two of the dogs were originally taken into quarantine following the incident.
The toddler suffered multiple bite wounds throughout her body and she required reconstruction surgery to repair some of the damage. The girl’s grandfather was taken into custody at Scioto County Jail. He was held in custody on a $20,000 bond. He is scheduled for a court hearing later this week.
For a child, a dog attack is a very traumatic event. When the dog attack leaves long-lasting bruises, wounds and scars the trauma becomes much worse. When a single dog attacks a person, they become very fearful and may be unable to defend themselves against that dog. However, when they are attacked by multiple dogs, the trauma and fear instilled in the victim is multiplied and the inability to defend themselves. A fourteen-month-old child is much weaker than three large dogs. As a result of the three dogs that attacked the child, she was forced to face reconstruction surgery to repair the damage that was done.
A child should never have to suffer such a traumatic experience and, more importantly, they should never have to undergo serious surgery to repair injuries they suffered in an event that could potentially have been prevented. If the child’s grandfather had been monitoring her while she was around the dogs, he could have stepped in and prevented the attack from happening. The charges against the grandfather are appropriate since he was the owner of the dog and he was negligent in caring for his granddaughter. The extent of the injuries the girl suffered add to the severity of the incident which further emphasizes the appropriateness of the charges against the man. In general, dog attacks usually occur because of an owner’s negligence. If you or a loved one have suffered serious injuries as a result of a dog attack you should contact an experienced lawyer to get compensation for your injuries.

In Moorhead, MN a report had been released about a 52-year-old woman who claimed she was standing at a corner waiting for a bus to arrive when a medium to large-size dog suddenly lunged at her and bit her several times in the face. The woman originally told police she believed the dog was a pit bull or bull dog and that the attack was unprovoked. When police investigated further the following day, the victim admitted to police that the attack actually happened at an acquaintance’s home as she was reaching down to pet some puppies that the dog had.
The dog then lunged at the woman and bit her in the face. The owner was unable to provide current vaccination records for the dog when police were investigating, thus the dog and her puppies were placed in the custody of the city pound for observation. The Clay County Attorney’s Office will review initial police reports to determine if charges will be filed. If charges will be filed against the woman they could include charges for filing a false police report.
Filing a false police report is a somewhat common offense and is often regarded as a misdemeanor depending on the severity of the offense and the ensuing results. People who file false police reports could face charges that result in a fine of roughly $1,000 or possible jail time if the offense is severe enough. In this incident, the woman’s false police report could have resulted in legal troubles for the dog’s owner and it could have also resulted in the dog being destroyed if police found that its vaccination records were not up to date.
When a person is under distress, it is possible for them to forget certain details of a traumatic event and accidentally provide information that may turn out to be untrue. However, when a person blatantly provides information to a police officer and knowingly lies to the police, they should be held accountable for their actions and false statements if they result in serious legal troubles for those they accuse. Nobody deserves to be falsely accused and nobody should provide false information in an attempt to hide the actual truth from the police to avoid getting somebody else in trouble.

An Indiana man caring for a Bullmastiff dog and one other dog will be forced to pay $1000 in compensation after the Bullmastiff reportedly attacked and bit a 5-year-old girl in the face. The dog was not on a leash and was completely unsupervised when the initial attack took place. The 5-year-old was transported to a medical facility where she was treated for bruising and small puncture wounds that ultimately left small scars
The man admitted he was not paying attention to the dog but claimed it was uncharacteristic for the dog to attack. The man pleaded guilty to a charge of owning a dog which attacked a person causing serious injury. He must pay the $1000 fine and complete 250 hours of community service. A judge ordered the dog be put down following this incident.
People always argue that their dog is not vicious and will not attack a person for any reason. However, just because a dog is not known to attack does not mean it won’t. The man in this incident should have been monitoring his dog to ensure the safety of those around him. Instead, the man took the dogs to a party with him and allowed them to roam free while he stayed drinking. This man’s negligence directly resulted in a 5-year-old suffering puncture wounds to her face. Beyond the physical injuries the girl suffered, the traumatic emotional toll the attack may have taken on the girl could most likely have long-lasting effects.
Although the dog owner was brought to justice, the compensation that the judge ordered the man to pay is not nearly enough to help this little girl recover from this emotional trauma. Unfortunately, many dog owners do not realize how easily their dog could attack a person and either cause severe injuries or a fatality if the attack is serious enough. While physical injuries heal overtime, the emotional toll that attack victims suffer will leave scars that may last forever. The younger an attack victim is, the more traumatic the attack could be for the victim.

Heath, Ohio police are on the lookout for a couple after their dog reportedly bit a 7-year-old boy at a Sonic Drive-In restaurant. Police said witnesses reported a group of children speaking with the couple asking if they could pet their dog. The woman reportedly told the kids that the dog was not always friendly with children. The children started to walk away from the couple when the dog lunged at the 7-year-old and bit him.
The woman claimed she was a nurse and dismissed the bite wound stating that the boy would be fine. The couple walked away from the scene of the incident and police are currently searching for them primarily to determine if their dog could pose a threat due to not being vaccinated. One of the witnesses to the incident stated that the woman worked for the Chapel Grove and Inn and Cottage.
Although the woman warned the children that the dog was not good with children, the fact that they walked away from the incident without so much as attempting to help the 7-year-old child suggests a lack of remorse for their dog’s actions. This incident presents a very dangerous situation for the 7-year-old boy because there is a chance that the dog could be infected with rabies if it has not been vaccinated for the disease. The boy’s injuries from the bite itself could also have been very serious.
The CDC estimates that roughly 40,000 people a year receive the vaccination for rabies prevention due to a concern of exposure to the disease. Since the woman involved in this incident is a nurse, she could face much harsher penalties because she did not attempt to provide any medical assistance to the boy. If she did not have the means to provide proper medical attention at the scene, she could have just as easily brought the boy to a medical facility where he could have gotten the medical treatment he needed. Even if the dog is not infected with rabies, the boy’s injuries from the bite wound itself still required medical attention and the woman could have provided that for him.

A 12-year-old boy was listed in serious condition at a San Diego children’s hospital after being attacked and mauled by a pit bull dog while he was walking into the back yard of his neighbor’s home. The incident occurred late June 13th when the boy went to his neighbor’s home to retrieve a towel that fell into the back yard. The neighbor accompanied the boy to the back yard and as the boy opened the sliding door to the back yard, the pit bull dove on the boy.
The neighbor attempted to pull the dog away but she lost her grip several times and the boy suffered several bites to his arms, face, and legs. Authorities believed the dog was not tied to any leash while in the back yard. The neighbor’s husband had to punch the dog several times in order to get the dog to release its grip on the boy. The dog did not have any rabies vaccinations prior to the attack.
Authorities described the pit bull dog as a vicious dog when they arrived on the scene of the attack. This detail coupled with the fact that the dog had not had its rabies vaccinations creates an extremely dangerous situation for the 12-year-old boy that was attacked. If the dog has been exposed to rabies in the past, it could easily transmit it to the boy, causing severe illness. Some people may call attention to the manner in which the neighbor’s husband pulled the dog away from the victim. However, when a person’s life is potentially threatened, a person’s instincts kick in, telling them to help the victim in the attack by any possible means. Depending on the laws pertaining to dog ownership and maintenance in the state, the neighbors could be held liable for the injuries that the boy suffered as a result of this attack. A child should never be put in this position to suffer serious injuries as a result of a dog attack, especially when their life could be threatened if the dog has been exposed to rabies.

A Salem, IN woman was walking a small dog through her neighborhood when she was attacked and bitten by a second, larger dog running loose. The woman suffered bite wounds to her left arm and was taken to a local medical center for treatment. The incident occurred when the bigger dog ran across the street and attacked the woman and her dog.
A neighbor attempted to help the victim and was able to get the larger dog away from the victim before she suffered serious injuries. Marion County Animal Control took the dog under their custody according to a Salem, IN police sergeant.
The report does not specify the severity of the woman’s injuries, however, the fact that only the woman’s arm was injured indicates her injuries may not have been as severe as some dog bite injuries can be. In many cases, victims suffer serious puncture wounds that could require several stitches to repair or surgery if the damage is extensive. Injuries can also consist of severe gashes, torn flesh and possible nerve damage associated with lacerations from the bites. One of the issues that make this incident a potentially difficult case in regard to legal representation is the fact that the dog was not with its owner; instead it was running loose through the neighborhood. There was no report whether the dog had the necessary tags to show that it was registered to any particular person. If an investigation reveals that it was registered to a specific person, that person could be held liable for the woman’s injuries if she chooses to file a lawsuit to get compensation for her injuries. If no owner is found, it could be very difficult for the woman to get compensation because there would be nobody to claim responsibility for the attack.

A mail carrier in Montgomery, IL received several stitches after he was bitten by a pit bull dog while delivering the mail. The 47 year old mail carrier stated he was delivering the mail in early afternoon of June 2nd when a bull mastiff dog attacked and bit him. The dog’s owner was charged with failure to affix a rabies tag on the dog and authorities discovered the dog was not current on its vaccination for rabies. There was no word in the report on the severity of the mail carrier’s injuries other than the fact that he required several stitches to close the wound that he suffered.
The cliché about dogs and mail carriers is one that everybody is aware of but nobody realizes the serious truth behind this claim. Everyone knows that some dogs may pose a threat to an unsuspecting person. However, according to information from the NALC, roughly 10 mail carriers suffer injuries of varying degrees every day they deliver the mail. If a dog is left loose as in this situation, the owner of the dog could be held liable for any injuries a mail carrier or other individual may suffer if the dog attacks them.
The dog owner in this instance was charged with allowing his dog to run at large unlawfully. Current leash laws in Illinois make it necessary for all dog owners to have their dogs restrained by a leash or confined by a gate or cage of some kind in the owner’s premises or property. Since the owner of the dog failed to maintain control of his dog and keep it confined as necessary, he has been held liable for the injuries that the mail carrier suffered. There are many ways to prevent injuries to yourself or someone else because of your dog. During next week’s dog bite prevention week, you can find information on how to prevent injuries from dog bites.

A Rhodesian Ridgeback dog was involved in the second dog attack since 2009 when the dog allegedly bit off a 3-year-old girl’s ear. The victim in the second attack that occurred in April also involved a little girl. The girl was bitten in the shoulder and suffered puncture wounds as a result of the bite. An investigation into the incident was launched but there is no word on the findings uncovered in the investigation as of yet. The dog’s owner also has other Ridgeback dogs that have been involved in similar incidents.
At least three children have been bitten or scratched and one other person had their arm severely injured in an attack in 2004. The dog involved in that attack and the second dog involved in the attack several weeks ago have both been labeled as “potentially dangerous” dogs according to the report. This means that from now on the dogs must have a muzzle on at all times while in public and a special fence must be built at the owner’s residence. The report states that the owner was ordered to contact authorities if any attacks happened following the 2004 attack but in this incident, the owner failed to contact police.
When a dog is involved in a single attack it could be construed as an accident but when that dog is involved in multiple attacks, putting several people in grave danger, something should be done to prevent that dog from attacking again. The worst part about this incident is that several children have been “caught in the crosshairs” in these attacks and suffered serious injuries. The dogs’ owner in these incidents should be held accountable for his dogs’ actions and the victims deserve to have compensation for their suffering.

A 5-year-old girl had part of her ear torn off after a German Shepherd mix dog attacked her. The dog had a history of attacks in the past according to the report on insidebayarea.com. The incident occurred on April 27th as the dog’s owner went to visit the little girl’s parents. The girl attempted to pet the dog but the dog lunged at her and bit off the tip of her right ear.
The girl received medical attention at a nearby medical center and as released the same day. The dog was later placed in 10-day quarantine to ensure it is not infected with rabies. The 10-day quarantine expired on May 6th and the dog was subsequently put to sleep. No arrests or charges will be made in connection with this attack.
One of the most dangerous actions that a child can do is to try and pet a dog they may not necessarily know. If the child has not been exposed to the dog in the past, the dog could easily feel as though the child is trying to hurt it and attack the child. The fact that the dog in this incident has been involved in other incidents in the past is also a factor that needs to be taken into account. The dog’s owner should make others aware of any incidents of dog attacks involving their pet to ensure the safety of those people. If they do not make others aware of their dog’s temperament ahead of time, they should be held accountable for any injuries victims suffer.

A two-year-old boy suffered a very large gash on his cheek after a 5-year-old Rottweiler jumped on top of him and bit him. Aidan Walton had to have nine stitches to repair the wound to his cheek. Authorities also discovered the dog had attacked another two-year-old in 2004 causing injuries.
The dog’s owner, Mary Burman was charged in the attack and her dog was ordered to be euthanized following the attack. Burman reportedly runs the dog park where the attack occurred. The report states that Burman was interviewed by Quebecor Media Inc. regarding the dog park and dog safety and Burman made a statement regarding the temperament of dogs. People attending the dog park believe that Burman should not be treated as though she as an authority on dog safety because they believe she doesn’t know what she is doing. There is no specific information on what charges Burman faces after this attack.
One of the saddest details in this report is that the boy’s family stated that Burman showed no remorse for the incident. The boy’s family stated she never called to check on Aidan’s prognosis after the attack. Although many people know that children should be monitored when there are dogs around to avoid accidents like this, dog owners should take responsibility for their dog’s actions when an attack occurs. The report states that this woman would not admit whether or not she currently owns a dog. This further indicates the woman’s unwillingness to take responsibility for her dog’s actions in attacking the two-year-old boy.

A 55-year-old man suffered serious bite wounds after being attacked and severely bitten by dogs. 55-year-old Larry Armstrong suffered serious puncture wounds, skin tears, and several scrapes. According to the AP News report, Armstrong’s death was ruled an accident and his history of seizures could have contributed to his death.
Police were unsure of the man’s condition prior to being attacked by the dogs and believe he may have been unconscious prior to the attack. Authorities trying to assist Armstrong after the accident were forced to chase the dogs away prior to offering assistance.
Although this incident was ruled as an accident, it demonstrates how easily a dog attack can occur. It also demonstrates how a poor medical history could create a situation where a person suffers serious injuries as a result of a dog attack. If a victim of a dog attack has a history of a medical condition such as seizures or some other mental disorder, it could easily cause that person to be completely unaware of a potential attack that would cause extremely serious injuries. If the dogs in this incident belonged to anybody nearby, that person could be held liable for causing the man’s injuries and ultimately causing his death. One of the unfortunate things in this incident is that there is nobody to come to the man’s defense against the dogs. Many people often suffer extremely serious injuries because nobody is able to stop the attack from happening.

A 39-year-old woman suffered puncture wounds to her arm and abdomen after being attacked by a pit bull dog in Palm Beach County, Florida. The woman was bitten by a male pit bull that had puppies with the woman’s female pit bull. The woman reportedly picked up one of the puppies to put it with the rest of the litter when the male pit bull jumped up and attacked the woman.
A witness in the home tried to stop the dog from attacking and was also bitten but their bite wounds were not as severe as the woman’s were. The male pit bull was euthanized following this attack because authorities believed the dog still posed a threat to others including the staff at the animal shelter where the dogs were kept after the attack.
This is one of many stories that could possibly contribute to the highly debated issue whether pit bulls are dangerous dogs or not. Proponents believe pit bulls are extremely dangerous and they believe laws should be set in place for owners. Opponents believe that these dogs are no more dangerous than any other dog could be. Whether a person believes they are dangerous or not, this incident demonstrates that it is very easy for a dog attack with injuries could easily occur.
The dog that attacked in this case could have been reacting by instinct to protect his puppy and therefore attacked the woman. However, this dog could also have been a dangerous and aggressive dog to begin with, thus creating the right circumstances for this attack to happen. Dog attacks happen against many people including innocent children and in these cases, the owners should be held accountable if they are not ensuring the safety of their pets.

A Las Vegas woman was severely injured following an attack by the family dog. The attack occurred late in the evening. A pit bull dog attacked the woman and two others causing the woman to lose some fingers and she could possibly lose her foot as a result of the injuries she suffered in the attack. The two other victims – a 23-year-old woman and a man both suffered bites as well. The man was forced to shoot and kill the pit bull dog. Neither he nor the 23-year-old victim suffered serious injuries in this incident. The cause of the attack is unknown at this time.
There is no information in this report whether the dog was a stray dog or if it had an owner. If the dog had an owner, that person could be held liable for the injuries that the 55-year-old woman suffered as a result of this attack. Unfortunately attacks like this occur very frequently and often the victims are left severely injured or are killed in these attacks. Most cases involve a dog that is much bigger than its victim and the dog is able to pin down the victim and cause serious injury such as deep gashes and bites.
If those injuries are left without proper wound care, they could cause infections or other serious complications. Many victims unfortunately require some sort of reconstructive surgery because of the severity of their wounds. Although this incident involved an adult, children also are victimized in dog attacks as well. They are often unable to react quickly enough and are subsequently bitten in the face or body. In situations such as this one, the dog’s owner should be held responsible for the attack and should be brought to justice.

A 17-month-old girl from Salina, KS was bitten for a second time by her family’s pet dog. The pet Labrador was released to an animal shelter where they are keeping it under observation. The shelter coordinator Rose Base stated she believed the incident occurred because neither the dog nor the child was properly supervised. This is the third report that the shelter has received from the family. The first incident occurred when the family’s previous dog bit somebody else. In that incident, the family released the dog to the same animal shelter as in this incident. The dog was held at a vet’s office for 10 days and later received a vaccination for rabies.
The coordinator at the animal shelter raised an important point in this report; it is extremely important to maintain proper supervision when a child under the age of 10 years old is in close proximity to any dog. A child can very easily provoke an attack and the dog will be quick to defend itself. People always want to believe that their dog will understand the difference between an intruder or stranger and their owner’s family. However, the fact is dogs are unable to make that distinction. If a dog senses that they are being threatened in any way; purposely or otherwise, they will attack in self-defense because that is their instinct. This is true for family members or strangers alike.

A San Antonio, TX woman escaped serious injuries from an attack by a pit bull dog when a man licensed to carry a firearm witnessed the attack and shot the dog in the leg. The dog was euthanized later following the incident. 58-year-old Angelita Deleon suffered bites to her head, face, and neck after the pit bull knocked her to the ground. Deleon was taken to a medical facility but was subsequently released without serious injuries.
The dog was not provoked to attack in any way; the attack was out of nowhere. Police stated if the man had not shot the dog, the woman could possibly have been killed by the dog. The owner of the dog was not identified but they could be facing a citation if they are found.
There is often a concern over allowing people to carry concealed weapons with or without a license. However, in this case, the dog attack could have been much worse if the man had not been able to stop the dog from further harming Deleon. The owner could possibly be cited for not keeping their dog safely in their home and for the injuries that the woman suffered as a result of the attack. The man’s quick thinking in coming to Deleon’s aid could possibly have saved her life in this attack.

In Fresno, California, a housekeeper was seriously injured and sent to a medical facility after she was attacked and bitten by two English Bull Terriers. In a previous incident that resulted in a lawsuit against the homeowner, a 12-year-old boy was also seriously injured after being attacked by a dog in the residence. The report states this is the second attack against the housekeeper in the last two months.
The three incidents altogether occurred in the last 8 months. It is a violation of law to maintain a dog with vicious tendencies, however, no legal action has been taken against the home owners as of yet. The woman suffered injuries to her face, arm and legs. The 12-year-old suffered severe scaring to his face as a result of the attack against him.
The fact that these two dogs have attacked people on more than one occasion presents a dangerous situation for many other people that may happen to come across those dogs or the residence where they are kept. According to the report, the homeowners have continued to be uncooperative with law enforcement regarding this matter and one of the dogs was even taken away from the home to an undisclosed location. Unfortunately, this presents a problem for law enforcement as they cannot do anything to prevent any other incidents. As a result, it is possible for many other dog attacks to occur.

A five-year-old boy in Alabama tragically dies after being attacked by a pack of dogs. Police are currently investigating the death that occurred in the boy’s yard.
On Monday, November 15th the child was at home with a babysitter in Phenix City, Alabama when he ran outside into the front yard and was brutally attacked by a dozen dogs. It is not clear how man of the dogs bit the boy. One of the dogs involved belonged to the boy’s family and the other eleven dogs were from the neighbors who had slipped under the fence. Both families were acquainted with each other. All the dogs were apparently mixed breeds but not pit bulls. The autopsy results will be available this week and the charges are pending.
These accidents can happen in an instant and change you and your family’s life forever. When you lose your child due to a dog bite injury it can be difficult to know what course of action to take. Your child is the most important person in your life, the people who are responsible for negligence and the death of your child should be held responsible for the loss your family now has to endure. Hospital bills, funeral costs and emotional damage should not burden a grieving family especially when another party is responsible for the death. If you and your family lost a child due to a dog attack, then contacting an Arizona personal injury attorney is your best option for compensation.

A 64-year-old man collapsed and died as a result of a heart attack that he suffered just after stepping in to rescue his mother-in-law from a dog attack. The incident occurred on November 23rd. Joan Hardin had just returned home from Thanksgiving dinner and was taking dishes out of the car. A Catahoula bull dog and a pit bull knocked Hardin to the ground and caused her to suffer an injury to her head. Richard Martratt used his pocket knife against the pit bull.
The pit bull ran away but the bulldog continued to attack. Martratt was able to get a hold of a gun that he owned and shot the bull dog three times, killing it. Shortly after the incident, police arrived and questioned everybody involved. At that time, Martratt collapsed, apparently having suffered a heart attack. Paramedics on the scene attempted to revive Martratt but were unable to do so. Martratt’s family and investigators into the incident are calling Martratt a hero for his efforts to save his mother-in-law.
Martratt is considered a hero because he instinctively stepped in between his mother-in-law and the dog that was attacking. It is very unfortunate that Martratt’s heroism also cost him his life at the same time. However, the situation could have been far worse and his family could have been severely injured or killed in the dog attack. The report did not state whether Joan Hardin suffered any injuries in the attack or not. Pit bulls are often thought of as very dangerous dogs. This attack may unfortunately add more fuel to the fire for that stereotype. Since Hardin was simply getting out of her car, it would prove this attack was an unprovoked attack. Regardless, this is a very unfortunate situation for both the attack, and the loss of life.

A woman in Seattle, WA was out jogging when a pit bull attacked the woman and bit her five times. The dog fled from its owners watch and ran toward the woman. A man who witnessed the attack ran to save the woman, stepping between the dog and the woman to allow her to get away, and the man was bitten during that time. Katelynn Doolittle stated that she most likely would have been killed had Lloyd not come to her rescue. The report on NWCN.com states there is no information whether the dog’s owner will be facing charges or not or if the dog will be put to sleep.
A dog’s owner should always be able to keep track of their dog at all times. However, there are situations when a dog is able to get away from its owner without the owner’s knowledge. If the owner has a leash on the dog and holds it at all times, then it is less likely for the dog to escape and cause harm to innocent bystanders. There is no information in this report whether the dog was on a leash or not. If the dog was not leashed, the owner could be held responsible for not maintaining security of their dog, which directly led to this attack. When a dog is out in public, the safest thing to do is keep them on a leash to avoid incidents like this one.

In a report from Ohio CBS affiliate 10tv.com, an Ohio man pleaded not guilty to sixteen misdemeanor charges stemming from an October 5th dog attack. According to the report, four dogs attacked 67-year-old James Bright while he was walking along an intersection in Columbus, OH. Bright had to undergo three surgeries to repair damage from the attack including skin grafts.
Bright was reportedly bitten in the leg, feet, hands and head and doctor’s are unsure whether Bright will be able to walk again as a result of the injuries. The dogs involved in the attack were quarantined in an animal shelter. The dog’s owner, Virgil Mitchell III showed remorse in the incident, stating that he felt terrible for what happened to Bright and he has no desire to keep the dogs.
As this incident demonstrates, dog attacks can result in minor cuts and puncture wounds to extremely serious injuries, as in this incident. Even a very small dog can inflict serious damage to the victim of an attack. A Shih Tzu dog is a relatively small dog but it is very easy for a person to be overpowered by a dog in an attack. Dog attacks are not always avoidable, but you can protect yourself to avoid serious injuries if you are attacked. Websites such as the American Kennel Club website and the CDC website can provide information on dog attacks and how to avoid serious injury.
