A 52-year-old man has been charged with two misdemeanor counts of having a stray dog after the two bulldogs he owns attacked and injured his 45-year-old neighbor. The attack originally occurred as the woman was walking through her driveway and passed the fence where the two dogs were kept. The dogs managed to get through the fence and immediately jumped on the woman and attacked her and her pets. The woman suffered a broken ankle and several lacerations on her hands and face that required stitches.
euthanized at the Humane Society according to authorities. The woman’s injuries were not life threatening.
Neighbors in the area said the two dogs that attacked never showed any aggressive behavior toward them or toward their pets. One person in particular said he had lived in the area for 5 years and never had any issues with the two bulldogs. However, although that may be true, a dog does not always show aggressive tendencies and anybody is still susceptible to attack. Just because a dog does not show any aggressive behavior does not mean they will not attack and this incident proves that. The bulldogs were able to get through a chain link fence before they attacked the victim in this incident. This shows how strong dogs can be and how easy it is for them to be able to take someone down and attack them. Even small dogs can have enough strength to knock a person down and cause serious injuries to them.
The woman’s family said they are planning to hire an attorney to discuss possible legal action to bring against the dog owner in connection with this incident. As they stand, the charges of having a stray dog have a three-month jail sentence if the person is convicted. The man will be arraigned in court at a later date that as of now has not been set yet. Victims of similar dog attacks should follow the course of action that the woman’s family is taking and hire an attorney who can help them bring the dog’s owner to justice if the dog owner fails to keep their dogs safely away from anyone they can attack.

A police canine suffered injuries to its nose and right thigh in an attack by two pit bull dogs. The attack happened as the police dog’s owner had taken it out for exercise late in the afternoon when two unleashed pit bulls ran toward the police dog and began biting her. The police officer removed the pit bulls and rushed his dog to the emergency room as she had been losing a large amount of blood. The officer later issued the dog owner two citations, one for failure to restrain an animal and one for failure to exercise her responsibilities as an animal owner.
This incident demonstrates that not even animals are safe from potential dog attacks. People are well aware that dogs are dangerous to other people but do not realize the dangers that other animals face against potentially vicious dogs. Even large dogs compared to those that initiate the attack could become victims of severe attacks and suffer equally severe injuries as a result. Fortunately, the dog in this incident could possibly make a recover from the injuries she suffered.
According to Illinois animal laws, dog owners who own dogs that are six months old or older are required to have a license to own the dog and the dogs must wear tags associated with that license. All licenses expire in April of every year and it is the dog owner’s responsibility to renew that license. In addition, it is the dog owner’s responsibility to keep their pet under restraint either by a leash, inside a crate or a cage, or in the owner’s property. The owner of a dog may not be held liable for an attack if the victim is either trespassing, committing a felony, if the victim provoked the dog, or if the dog was a police dog assisting in the line of duty at the time of the attack. As a result, the dog owner in this case was held responsible and given multiple citations for the attack.
Anybody who is the victim of an attack like this one and if the attack does not fall under the aforementioned circumstances, the victim should contact an attorney who can help them get compensation for their injuries and ensure that the dog owner is held fully responsible for their dog’s actions.

Georgia state laws on dogs could be on the verge of change following a press conference with lawmakers and a 10-year-old girl that was attacked and bitten by two pit bull dogs. The victim suffered injuries to her arms that caused her to lose full function of her right arm and she lost part of her left arm. The attack happened when the girl, then 8 years old, was walking through her neighborhood and was attacked by the two dogs. The victim spoke at the press conference and stated she believes dog owners should be sentenced to serve jail time if they own a vicious dog that attacks another person.
In the state of Georgia, House Bill 148 and House Bill 685 are being changed to clarify the definition of a dog attack and make punishments harsher for dog owners. As of now a dangerous dog is defined as one that has previously been involved in an attack, therefore dogs that have not been involved in an attack are not counted in the law. The proposals to the two House bills will be going through a hearing process this year according to the chairman of the House Agriculture Committee.
People at the press conference including lawmakers stated that it is tragedies like this that cause lawmakers and others to review statutes set in place against vicious dogs. Lawmakers said the wording of the original statute is what made it confusing and caused a loophole for dog owners to get through without being punished. However, if the statutes will be reviewed for sure, it could possibly be a major step in effect to help the citizens of Georgia against vicious dogs. The victim’s mother even stated that the statute was in disarray because of its wording. The most unfortunate part of this incident is that a 10-year-old girl suffered serious injuries and had to spend a lengthy period of time in the hospital as a result.
Anybody who owns a dog that has attacked a person this viciously should be held responsible for their dog’s actions and punished to the fullest extent of the law. The statutes set in place are done so that the citizens of the specific state where the laws are in effect can be safe and not have to worry about being attacked viciously like this. Unfortunately, as this incident demonstrates, some statutes are simply not enough and they must be revised. In addition, victims can contact an attorney who can assist them in getting compensation from the dog owner and making sure the dog owner is held responsible for the dog attack.

A 10-year-old girl was the victim of a dog attack involving a Yorkshire terrier dog in the United Kingdom. The dog was one of 3 dogs owned by an elderly woman and police are now looking for the dog’s owner following this incident. The elderly woman reportedly caught a bus to a hospital after the attack had happened. The girl had been bitten in the ankle and suffered bruising as a result of the attack. Police are asking citizens to provide any information they can regarding the attack or the whereabouts of the elderly woman that owned the dog.
Police have said to contact PC Tracey Riddell at Great Yarmouth South Safer Neighbourhood Team on 101 or to call Crimestoppers. Anybody with information is urged to contact police to help them find the elderly woman connected to this incident so that the 10-year-old girl and her family can get the justice they deserve to have following this attack. Although the Yorkshire terrier breed of dogs is a very small dog, it does not mean that they cannot be violent dogs or that they cannot be aggressive. Even the smallest dog can easily hurt somebody if they bite them hard enough or if they come in contact with rabies and transfer it to their victim.
Dog attacks can occur without any notice as is possible in this incident. Despite the size of the dog, a dog attack can be very dangerous for the victim and anybody around the dog at the time of the attack. If a dog senses a threat against it, such as when a person tries to get them off the victim or approaches the dog in a threatening way, the dog will quickly attack regardless of its size and could cause serious injuries as a result, as this incident demonstrates.
The little girl in this incident should not have to suffer regardless of the size of the dog that attacked her. Some may argue that there are always two sides to every story and while that may be true, without the presence of the elderly woman that the dog belonged to, there is no way to get both sides of the story to confirm whether or not the attack happened the way it was reported. In either case, the girl’s family should be able to hire an attorney to get compensation for the injuries the girl sustained as a result of this attack.

An Illinois dog owner was left in critical condition after being attacked and bitten by their two American Bulldogs. Illinois police said they responded to the call in the morning hours and found the dog owner had been bitten by the dogs. The extent of the owner’s injuries was not released but police were conducting an investigation into the incident. The two dogs were taken into custody by animal control pending results of the investigation. The owner of the dogs was taken to a medical facility for treatment of their injuries following the attack.
This incident demonstrates that not only can dog attacks happen against owners of dogs but they can also be very vicious attacks as well. Although there is no information on the specific injuries that the dog owner suffered in this attack, the fact that the owner was left in critical condition demonstrates how serious the attack was and how serious the dog owner’s injuries were. In the event that the dog did not belong to the person that was attacked, the victim or the victim’s family could have taken legal action against the owner of the dog and gotten compensation for the injuries that the victim sustained as well as the medical expenses that may coincide with the victim’s recovery.
Unfortunately, since the dog that attacked the victim was their own dog and not somebody else’s, the victim will be unable to receive compensation for the injuries and damage that occurred in this attack. However, anybody that has been attacked by an unknown dog outside of their personal property should not hesitate to contact an attorney who can assist them in getting compensation for the injuries and damage that occurs as a result of the attack. This incident demonstrates that dog attacks can be extremely vicious, even if the dog is not usually a vicious animal. In many cases, the environment they are raised in affects their overall behavior and they will be quick to attack anybody. In those cases, dog owners should be held responsible for their dog’s actions and the victims that are affected should get the justice they deserve to have for their pain and suffering.

In Saugerties, NY, police and the dog warden will be enforcing a “two bite” law that states if a dog bites a human or another dog twice, that dog could be euthanized. Pet owners are strongly encouraged not to allow their dogs to roam free in order to prevent potential dog bite cases according to Saugerties police. This rule has already been set in place but it will now see stronger enforcement against attacking dogs. In a previous incident, a Biscon dog was attacked and bitten by two pit bulls owned by neighboring families
. The dog survived and required 100 stitches to close the wounds that it suffered in the attack. Victims of dog attacks are strongly encouraged to contact police and the dog warden to report the attacking animal.
There are many arguments about this law being enforced in New York. Some may completely disagree with enforcing this law because it vilifies animals. Others say laws like this are extremely important because it provides a measure of safety for humans and animals alike. Regardless whether one would agree with this law or not, the thing to take note of is that the safety of the citizens and their pets is what is most important. Nobody should be in a situation where they could be in serious danger because of a dangerous or aggressive dog.
Laws pertaining to dogs are set in place in order to protect the citizens of the city where they are enacted. Many dog bite cases result in extremely serious injuries to the victims and many cases occur because dogs are not on a leash or in an area away from citizens. Many dog bite incidents result in the victim requiring serious reconstructive surgery because of the extensive injuries they suffer as a result of the dog attack.
If you or somebody you know has been attacked and bitten by an aggressive dog, you should contact an attorney who can assist you in getting compensation and justice for your injuries and damages. People should be able to know that their safety and the safety of their pets will not be compromised because of other potentially aggressive animals roaming around.

A two-year-old boy bitten by the family dog suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a medical facility. The dog in question was described as an 11-year-old Husky dog and the family said they would turn it over to the custody of animal control the same afternoon of the dog attack. The family stated that the dog was not known to be aggressive but still chose not to keep it in the home following the attack.
There is no information on where the boy was bitten on his body. The family stated the boy’s condition was good after he had undergone treatment for the attack.
According to the American Kennel Club, male Husky dogs can range in height from 21 to 23.5 inches and they can weight anywhere from 45 to 60 pounds. Female Husky dogs can range in height from 20 to 22 inches and weigh between 35 to 50 pounds. The average height and weight for a two-year-old child is 31 inches high and 28 pounds in weight. This is a significant difference in comparison to a Husky dog. In a lawsuit over a dog attack, these measurements could be used against the dog’s owners to prove the child could not have defended himself in this attack.
If these measurements could be applied to the victim and the dog in this situation, it clearly demonstrates how easily the child could have been overpowered by the dog. Although Husky’s are not known to be aggressive dogs, a dog attack involving any type of dog could happen in an instant and the victims may not always be aware. Even family dogs can attack their owners when they don’t expect it and they can cause serious injuries depending on the severity of the attack.
Unfortunately, small children have become the most frequently attacked because of their curious nature toward dogs; always trying to pet them or play with them even if the dog does not belong to them. In most cases children are often much smaller in size and weight than the dog that attacks them, which makes it much easier for the dog to knock them down and injure them. A child’s small size also makes them more susceptible to more serious injuries as a result of a dog attack. This incident could have been much worse; fortunately the child was able to recover from his injuries.

An Indiana man caring for a Bullmastiff dog and one other dog will be forced to pay $1000 in compensation after the Bullmastiff reportedly attacked and bit a 5-year-old girl in the face. The dog was not on a leash and was completely unsupervised when the initial attack took place. The 5-year-old was transported to a medical facility where she was treated for bruising and small puncture wounds that ultimately left small scars
The man admitted he was not paying attention to the dog but claimed it was uncharacteristic for the dog to attack. The man pleaded guilty to a charge of owning a dog which attacked a person causing serious injury. He must pay the $1000 fine and complete 250 hours of community service. A judge ordered the dog be put down following this incident.
People always argue that their dog is not vicious and will not attack a person for any reason. However, just because a dog is not known to attack does not mean it won’t. The man in this incident should have been monitoring his dog to ensure the safety of those around him. Instead, the man took the dogs to a party with him and allowed them to roam free while he stayed drinking. This man’s negligence directly resulted in a 5-year-old suffering puncture wounds to her face. Beyond the physical injuries the girl suffered, the traumatic emotional toll the attack may have taken on the girl could most likely have long-lasting effects.
Although the dog owner was brought to justice, the compensation that the judge ordered the man to pay is not nearly enough to help this little girl recover from this emotional trauma. Unfortunately, many dog owners do not realize how easily their dog could attack a person and either cause severe injuries or a fatality if the attack is serious enough. While physical injuries heal overtime, the emotional toll that attack victims suffer will leave scars that may last forever. The younger an attack victim is, the more traumatic the attack could be for the victim.

Animal control authorities are currently investigating conflicting reports about a pit bull blamed for attacking and biting a Fort Collins woman. The attack caused the woman to suffer a broken hand as a result of the bite. The 24-year-old woman told animal control that she was sitting on her patio in the backyard of her townhome when she was attacked by a dog living in her neighbor’s yard.
The neighbor in question owned two dogs including the dog that the woman identified in the attack. However, the owner stated it was the second dog that attacked the woman and it was not the dog she identified to animal control. As a result, both pit bulls are under quarantine in the animal control center’s custody until they can investigate further and determine what exactly happened.
In some cases when a person owns multiple dogs and one of them attacks, it is entirely possible for the victim to not realize which dog was the attacker. In this instance, both dogs looked very similar to each other including breed and coloring. In order for animal control to determine what happened to the 24-year-old woman, they must be absolutely sure which dog was to blame for the attack. Another neighbor that witnessed the incident stated that the dog that actually attacked the woman was aggressive by nature and was simply trying to protect its owner’s home.
This is often the case with many dog bite incidents that occur in residential areas. A dog may often sense a threat, especially if the victim is approaching the dog in an aggressive or overly excited manner. This is often why children are attacked and bitten as well. When approaching an unfamiliar dog, it is important to be very careful and approach very slowly so as not to startle the dog and cause it to attack. The neighbor who witnessed the incident said she saw the woman run up to the dog to pet it. This action could have been mistaken when the dog saw her and it immediately sensed a threat even if the woman did not mean any harm. This incident demonstrates how careful a person must be when approaching a dog they are unfamiliar with and when they are passing by a yard with a dangerous or aggressive dog.

A police officer suffered minor bite injuries after he was bitten by a police dog. The incident occurred just after a high speed chase involving three armed robbery suspects. Police officers used barriers on the road to stop the suspects from fleeing. After the chase was over the police officer was conducting a search inside the suspect’s SUV and the dog reportedly mistook the officer for a robber and attacked him.
The dog then pursued the actual suspects into the woods but lost their scent. Police said they are working with the dog in on a training plan to ensure these types of mistakes do not happen again. Authorities did not have a detailed description of the suspects and are asking anybody that has information to step forward.
This incident demonstrates that even a dog’s owner or trainer can be attacked by the dog. Under the right circumstances, the dog can easily make a mistake whether a person is trying to harm them or not. Unlike humans, dogs act on instinct and they will quickly attack if they sense somebody is a threat to them. Given the training that police dogs receive, it is possible that since the officer was in the suspect vehicle, the dog followed his training and attacked the officer after being given the command to go to suspect vehicle. The dog may have been trained to attack on sight, therefore he quickly attacked the officer because he was in the vehicle.
Regardless of how much training a dog may get, an unforeseen accident is always possible. As dog owners people should never fall into the assumption that their dog will not attack them just because they are familiar with them. This incident shows that even highly trained dogs tend to make mistakes at some point and dog owners should always be aware and prepared for an accidental bite or attack given the right circumstances. In this incident, if the person that was attacked had been an innocent bystander, the police officer’s could potentially be held accountable for any injuries that may have occurred. The attack on the officer could also have been much worse. Fortunately, the officer only suffered minor injuries in the attack.

Heath, Ohio police are on the lookout for a couple after their dog reportedly bit a 7-year-old boy at a Sonic Drive-In restaurant. Police said witnesses reported a group of children speaking with the couple asking if they could pet their dog. The woman reportedly told the kids that the dog was not always friendly with children. The children started to walk away from the couple when the dog lunged at the 7-year-old and bit him.
The woman claimed she was a nurse and dismissed the bite wound stating that the boy would be fine. The couple walked away from the scene of the incident and police are currently searching for them primarily to determine if their dog could pose a threat due to not being vaccinated. One of the witnesses to the incident stated that the woman worked for the Chapel Grove and Inn and Cottage.
Although the woman warned the children that the dog was not good with children, the fact that they walked away from the incident without so much as attempting to help the 7-year-old child suggests a lack of remorse for their dog’s actions. This incident presents a very dangerous situation for the 7-year-old boy because there is a chance that the dog could be infected with rabies if it has not been vaccinated for the disease. The boy’s injuries from the bite itself could also have been very serious.
The CDC estimates that roughly 40,000 people a year receive the vaccination for rabies prevention due to a concern of exposure to the disease. Since the woman involved in this incident is a nurse, she could face much harsher penalties because she did not attempt to provide any medical assistance to the boy. If she did not have the means to provide proper medical attention at the scene, she could have just as easily brought the boy to a medical facility where he could have gotten the medical treatment he needed. Even if the dog is not infected with rabies, the boy’s injuries from the bite wound itself still required medical attention and the woman could have provided that for him.

A mail carrier in Montgomery, IL received several stitches after he was bitten by a pit bull dog while delivering the mail. The 47 year old mail carrier stated he was delivering the mail in early afternoon of June 2nd when a bull mastiff dog attacked and bit him. The dog’s owner was charged with failure to affix a rabies tag on the dog and authorities discovered the dog was not current on its vaccination for rabies. There was no word in the report on the severity of the mail carrier’s injuries other than the fact that he required several stitches to close the wound that he suffered.
The cliché about dogs and mail carriers is one that everybody is aware of but nobody realizes the serious truth behind this claim. Everyone knows that some dogs may pose a threat to an unsuspecting person. However, according to information from the NALC, roughly 10 mail carriers suffer injuries of varying degrees every day they deliver the mail. If a dog is left loose as in this situation, the owner of the dog could be held liable for any injuries a mail carrier or other individual may suffer if the dog attacks them.
The dog owner in this instance was charged with allowing his dog to run at large unlawfully. Current leash laws in Illinois make it necessary for all dog owners to have their dogs restrained by a leash or confined by a gate or cage of some kind in the owner’s premises or property. Since the owner of the dog failed to maintain control of his dog and keep it confined as necessary, he has been held liable for the injuries that the mail carrier suffered. There are many ways to prevent injuries to yourself or someone else because of your dog. During next week’s dog bite prevention week, you can find information on how to prevent injuries from dog bites.
