Man Killed in Firework Accident
In Las Vegas, a twenty year old man is dead after a shrapnel from a firework hit him in the chest. The accident happened around 10pm on July 4th in the 6000 block of Pooh Corner Court.
The man was taken to the University Medical Center where he later died. A 17-year old teenager was also injured in this accident with injuries to his bicep and leg. Neighbors stated that the man and teenager were using a homemade device to set off the fireworks which may have contributed to the accident. Police are investigating the fireworks that were involved in the accident and the bomb squad is also involved. A preliminary investigation is currently taking place which indicates that this incident was an accident, although homicide detectives are also investigating.
